Another morning glory moment ruined by very skewed journalism and politics… Somewhere where there should be no place for such at all, somewhere where meritocracy and higher examples of humans should be the only norms… The Met police.
- This article will be a minor Bible in length, I will also provide a probably horrible voice over once able as well for the lazy/busy ones. If you’re reading any of this, at least read the bit in the end.
On the first day of spring, I was greeted by two articles, one from BBC and, of course, of course…one from the Guardian.
Both of these are very, very scathing reports, based on a 363 page report done by Baroness Casey, I do sincerely wonder who actually read the report… But I digress.
The BBC and The Guardian of course, focus, firstly and most prominently on their pages on:
“Women and children have been failed by the Metropolitan Police, with racism, misogyny, and homophobia at the heart of the force, a blistering review says.“
- by BBC,
or “The Metropolitan police is broken and rotten, suffering collapsing public trust and is guilty of institutional racism, misogyny and homophobia, an official report has said.“
- by The Guardian…
Only deeper down the text one finds the true horrible events such as the fate of Sarah Everard and her murder and rape done by a Wayne Cousens, and another conviction for rape, of a met officer David Carrick. - And those are valid marks against the people in charge of the departments and in turn, their own chiefs. Dirty cops never, ever act alone or in complete vacuum. And if the person directly in charge does not know what’s going on, they either don’t care, or should not be in charge.
Of course after a short mention of those horrible crimes committed by horrible people, - We come back to true issues, by and on, both higher examples of journalism of BBC and The Guardian, we continue with homophobia, sexism, islamophobia, oh and, of course - Institutional racism!!!
“Casey revealed that one Muslim officer had bacon stuffed in his boots, a Sikh officer had his beard cut, minority ethnic officers were much more likely to be disciplined or leave, and Britain’s biggest force remains disproportionately white, in a capital that is increasingly diverse.“
- BBC
“Attempts to improve diversity in the Met are not succeeding," Baroness Casey says in the report. "The Met's response to discrimination is wholly unsatisfactory.
"Deep in its culture it is uncomfortable talking about racism, misogyny, homophobia and other forms of discrimination."
The report also reveals:
Dilapidated fridges were repeatedly found overpacked and how, during last summer's heatwave, a freezer broke down - all of the evidence inside had to be destroyed, meaning cases of alleged rape were dropped
Discrimination towards female colleagues; bags of urine being thrown at cars; male officers flicking each other's genitals; and sex toys being placed in coffee mugs
How a review heard about initiation rituals, including people being urinated on in the shower
One Sikh officer had his beard trimmed; while another had his turban put in a shoe box; and a Muslim officer found bacon in his boots
Almost one in five of Met employees surveyed had personally experienced homophobia“
- The Guardian.
- This is where swearing occurs, not because I lack the vocabulary or am primitive, but because I need this to properly sit in the readers mind. This is not a child friendly article, in case there are actual children reading this instead curriculum on their gender and internalised racism.
On the note of, apparently one Muslim officer finding bacon in his boot, a few remarks:
1. bacon is not lethal in small quantities, and if you deemed to be a police officer, and not an officer in the religious police. It should not matter.
2. The Muslim officer might be a cunt and has incurred the wrath of his colleagues which were imaginative in their retribution
3. The Muslim officers colleagues might be cunts, and are abusing their colleague by using a method they know it will fuck with him
4. They’re all cunts and should not be in the police as they don’t have the strength of character or the mental aptitude for jokes and normal group dynamic which should serve to solidify a loyal and efficient group.
- reading the report I’ve actually found:
“A Muslim officer told us: “I found bacon left in my boots inside my locked locker. I was horrified but kept an open mind as to who this could be. I was hoping to identify who the culprit was and take appropriate action. I didn’t want to be branded a person who played the race card and out of fear of reprisals did not tell anyone at the time.”
- page 241 of the report,
The man seems solid, - Form, gods forbid, your own opinion on this.
Here’s another:
“ On being targeted for your beliefs: “There have been a number of incidents where baptised [Sikh] officers are picked on. One officer had his beard cut because an officer thought it was funny. Another officer had his turban put into a shoe box because they thought it was funny. Unless we educate our officers then this will happen.”
- page 241 of the report.
Again, cunts exists in this world, and there is a thin line between what males and females do to each other in groups to test how well will they work together, it can and will turn into pathology if there is no strong and capable leader in the group. - This same statement can be used concerning the apparent initiation rituals on the report.
Please do make a mark on the part where I significate the fact a strong and capable leader is needed, which leads by example.
Now here’s one, on the same page of the report (241) which I will expand on a bit more:
“ On having a disability: "When your face doesn’t fit, a line manager will use every possible tactic to get rid of you. So your work life becomes a constant battle to keep your job (frequently to higher standards than able-bodied staff) whilst discrimination and processes are used against you." “There is an attitude in the Met about people with disabilities, especially hidden ones, being lazy, and it destroys you. We do have a culture of bullying…People have questioned if you are really that ill why don’t you leave the job.” “
- page 241 of the report
- I view the Police Force like I view the military, as they share some basic principles - like using force on people which don’t want to comply, or are a threat. - It may sound vague and brutalistic, it is, and it’s on purpose. The report does not expand on the types of disabilities.
The police, like the military and special forces, need a certain physical and mental level entry requirement, and sustained testing scaled by age of course but and adjusted, slightly, by gender. -That’s all it should be.
You should not differentiate on anything, if you have two officers dealing with a difficult issue, if one of them is not “up to snuff“ either one or both of them are in danger.
And before some of you start raising their heckles about fat people or women - there are and I’ve met some both chunky people, and women, who can keep up with a healthy male speed and endurance wise, within reason of course. Unfortunately, because biology and physics, women can’t produce the same amount of raw physical power, or bear weight, as most healthy men. There are ways of mitigating the difference dough, being a better marksman, being more intelligent, being a menace with a baton… Or just being a badass.
There’s an insider cop joke I heard, long ago, which I’m sure there’s a version in every police force in the world “ There’s two of us because one knows how to read and write, the other one protects the one who knows how to read or write“
Common sense should be applied to make sure you have capable people working on a very difficult and oftentimes dangerous job.
Or as chief constable of Humberside explained to Harry Miller, who is a legend, -
“ Harry, what you must understand is that common sense is not an appropriate tool for a police officer because it leads to unpredictable outcomes. What we need is more guidance“
No police officer should be obese, disabled in a way that prevents them doing the job as a healthy individual, or mentally disabled in the same way, which would prevent them from doing their job as a healthy individual.
MORE than a healthy individual. - you cannot have a force actively policing the general public without them being more physically and mentally capable than the said general public.
Because it will always lead to this mess if you don’t. - there’s a lot to be said about the mentioned “general public“ as well, later. Of course, some would say “But what about people in the offices pushing pencils or cleaning etc“ - my dear readers of feeble and shallow mind, this is deeper than that, I’ll try to keep it short, like always…
- If you allow one part of the force to be of any lower criteria than the, lets say, people on the field. You will absolutely breed discontent on the grounds of difference, and you’ll have people separating in groups and making each other lives miserable in return - it’s a balancing act for sure, depending on what work is done and how it’s paid… Without, again, real and capable leaders which lead by example, there will be issues on the grounds of difference.
More intelligent among you are probably starting to form a question concerning money, if that’s the case, I salute you, I will expand later.
…. There are 7 pages on homophobia in the report - Chapter 9.1: Homophobia, page 243…. , 7 fucking, pages… fuck no. I did read them dough.
I’m sorry, not sorry, - just saying that to appear polite, which I do like to be and not be perceived like a meathead.
Your sexuality does not matter, at all, it is a private thing, your sexuality inside an institution which should be apolitical matters even less, as expressing said sexuality is the same as a male and female cops waxing lyrical how they intent to fuck each other sideways publicly. Be it gay, straight or whatever floats your goat. It does not matter.
More importantly, if your feelings are hurt by other peoples statements about your sexuality, you are too weak to be in an institution where stress is served daily.
However, as stated above, - Cunts exist, be it male, female, Muslim, Singh, Cristian or Flying Spaghetti Monster. If somebody is actively making your life miserable on the fact that they are being cuntish , or yourself being gay, - they might be gay themselves!
Ask them how long have they felt that way, as it’s obviously driving them mad and pushing the stress of not admitting being gay, so much it makes them cuntish. In case they insist of remaining an issue, the people above both of you in rank, have a duty to deal with the said conflicted human.
None of the above measures and coping mechanisms include making your officers more fabulous, make them wear rainbow colours or drive rainbow cars, as it serves no purpose but degrade them and their institution. Sure, some glory should be allowed, but not because they are gay or whatever, but because they’re awesome people. Period, sexuality is not a superpower, but a taste. Pushing for more public glorification of the Oppressive Rainbow is narcissistic at best.
There is more on the report, including some apparently serious misconducts on investigations concerning some severe criminal cases, murders and rapes committed by the public, and investigations of such by the Met. Which seemed to indicate more the lack of competence and training than any homophobia, at least to me.
On the note of lack of diversity and apparent institutional racism, ehem, - go fuck yourselves with a cactus, all of you who feel that way.
Britain is not racist, that’s a fact, the reason why you have, in general, more white people in the police is more likely connected to the fact that it's mostly white people in the country, followed by the fact that white people, in the West, are more prone to be looking at being in the force… Be it by heritage or just plain economic and future options reason, to the fact it might be somewhat cultural as well. There's an implication in law and order in the Western culture, and pretending it's otherwise either makes you wilfully uneducated or wilfully malicious.
For the people of colour in the force, I would hazard a guess the non-white outliers are roughly representative on the actual percentage of their “minority” ( I dislike that term intensely) in the country/region. Furthermore you won't find a “gangsta” cop as much as you won't find a “adidas wearing gold chains eurotrash” one… Common, sense, people. Please…
And, again, for the feeble minded amongst you reading this, - If you have a percentage of minority obviously dominating criminal, non-compliance or other charts concerning the Met, it’s highly unlikely from the fact the Met is institutionally racist, and very likely to the fact that there’s a lot of said activity among those “minorities“
- Want to blame? Blame the blanket approach to immigration and integration, blame the unwillingness to even touch on different cultures other than the Western one, British one, blame it on self flagellation of the British, at their own expense… Which causes them not to push qualities which are deemed controversial now, such as: work hard, study a lot, be the best as you can be, don’t lie cheat or steal, pay your tax, vote with due diligence, expect of others some degree of integrity and especially - don’t be a cunt.
Your ethnicity should mean nothing in an institution like the police. And it does not matter. Unless you would want to grift on account of it, then of course that’s the only thing that matters.
I have to say that Baroness Casey herself honours the heroes of the Met in the report, - people who do hard work every day including the tragedy of PC Keith Palmer who was murdered in 2017… I wish she held the same respect and perspective throughout the report.
Sir Mark Rowley, the force commissioner actually demonstrated some amount of scrotum and did not cave in completely :
“ Rowley said he wanted more time to study Casey’s recommendations, but said he accepts the findings. He said he accepted Casey’s factual findings about racism, misogyny and homophobia in his organisation and they were systemic, but neither he nor the Met would accept they were “institutional”, claiming it was a political term.
Rowley, battling to avoid being the last commissioner of the Met in its current shape and form, said: “I have to use practical, unambiguous, apolitical language … I don’t think it fits those criteria.
“It’s simply a term I’m not going to use myself.”
Asked if he was not accepting the finding, Rowley said: “I’m accepting we have racists, misogynists. I’m accepting, we’ve got systemic failings, management failings, cultural failings.
“This is about an organisation that needs to become determinedly anti-racist, anti-misogynist, anti-homophobic.“
- The Guardian.
I do wonder what sort of public self flagellation and adherence to the woke dogma he will be required to put up.
In the meantime, Sadiq Khan, being as slimy as a venereal disease on a frog, customarily used convenient chance for grifting and said:
“The evidence is damning. Baroness Casey has found institutional racism, misogyny and homophobia, which I accept“
- The Guardian
Of course he does, of course he does…
No loyalty displayed from the politicians, no leadership, only blame and grift… No honour in any of this…
There’s a lot of charts, data, sources from select publishing containing quite surface level reasoning on the report… But there’s no solutions anywhere in sight… None.
Here’s what I propose, as solutions:
increase funding to the police and the police colleges, by a LOT - the news report claims 700 milion CUTS people… they should have a large increase I would go far and increase by 1 billion for the whole UK.
increase the barrier for entry physically and mentally to above, justify it by paying a lot and add benefits, introduce (back) the system of vetting, better selection needs to be returned.
remove any equality and diversity half measures, performance and level of ability should be only thing that matters… waxing poetic is fine, but I want warrior poets to police the land.
decriminalise and legalise petty low level drugs such as weed and mushrooms, it will reduce the pressure and resources cost on the police - dough it will increase the same on local enforcement such as trading standards - in which case you should tax the hell out of the “produce“
make sure the people in the police are true examples of capable men and women, make sure that everybody understands that being a police officer, is a way of life, not a 9-5 job.
increase the oversight of the said police, with anti corruption measures and policies, make sure the police on the street has body cameras
I know and have met some police officers here in the UK, one of them I call a friend - he is a highly capable man, with strong moral fibre and nerves of steel, trained in more than he does, way more… And he is a great father, a tolerable husband (met his wife as well hehe, legend). A person I can and would trust. Met some of his friends from the force, capable and hardy people. I’ve worked with a lady Sergeant once in my line of work, - another legend and a badass! - My point is, there are people here, real men and women, living and bleeding for A DUTY, - a concept most public these days have no concept off…
And to them, I dedicate this article.
This rant, is over, for now.
